niqo torrez (they/them) is a mixed queer movement-driven director and dramaturg, currently based in brooklyn, ny. their work grapples with what it means to be human, often through physical language; they are most interested in telling stories of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.

recent credits include The Woodlands (NYTF); And a Child Shall Lead (PPAS); Clara & Carmilla (NYTF); The Spitfire Grill (assist. director, Vanguard Theatre Company); Sprites (assist. director, Rising Sun Company); Bloom Bloom Pow (producing assistant, Dead Horse Productions); The House of Bernarda Alba (dramaturg, The Gallery Players); The Mystery of the Green Teeth Ghost (PSM, RSC).

select university credits include: Grounded, Tell Them Tomorrow (director); The Wolves, Cadillac Crew (assistant director); The Killing Fields, To Hell and Back (dramaturg). their premiere play, Pages From a Love Manifesto, was first developed at SUNY New Paltz and recently appeared virtually in The Rogue Theatre Festival; their next piece, Customer Service Representation, was named an Act One Play Festival semi-finalist at The Secret Theatre in Queens.
